ISDN Option ISDN can be a viable option to cable modems for faster Internet Access. ISDN provides:
What you should know about the various options: ISDN ISDN uses the same copper wires that are in your house today. It does require two circuits (sets of wires) to get the full 128 K rate. 64K is delivered on each circuit (channel). The conditioned phone lines are maintained by your local phone company and when you subscribe to ISDN the local phone company guarantees the quality of the phone lines to deliver the 64K speeds per line. Our modems will link the 2 channels depending on use. Both channels are used to provide continuous 128K upload and download speeds. One channel can provide continuous 64K upload and download speeds while the other channel is used for phone or fax. Both channels can also be used for 2 phone lines. Cable Cable requires coaxial cable to be brought into your house. They provide business circuits and individual (residential) circuits. The business circuits guarantee an up and down rate. The individual (residential) circuits do not. Rate provided on individual circuits will depend on the number of circuits (nodes) each node is tied to up to 750 homes in your particular area and the amount of local traffic in addition to the greater Internet traffic.
